Job shadow until noon, lunch, afternoon activities put on by the Emporia State University (ESU) special pops class.  They move from station to station and each station has different activities.  They also learn a dance and at the end of the day we all come together and dance.  We hand out door prizes through out the afternoon as well.

The Mitchell, Jewell, and Lincoln Transition Council recently sponsored their annual Disability Mentoring Day in Beloit.  This year we had 37 students who participated in the program.   A special thanks goes to the following business who donated their time and expertise to help make this a special event:   Alco, Beloit Pizza Hut, Catlin's Friendly IGA, Farmway Distribution Center and Fertilizer Plant, Great Plains Landscaping, Hilltop Lodge Retirement Community,   North Central Kansas Technical College Food Services, and Solomon Valley Veterinary Hospital,   Local council members who helped make this event possible each year are Barb Wise, Becky McQueen,  Callie Bader, Darsey Offutt, Kathy Webster, and Peggy Bohnert.

Great Bend

Location: Great Bend Rec Center
Date & Time: October 15, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm 

We will meet at the Great Bend Rec. Center have lunch and a noon speaker, deliver the proclamation, then we will disperse to the businesses the participants have chosen and arrangements prior arrangements have been made with. Then participants will be at the businesses for approximate 2 hours. After that we will go back to the rec center and we will share our experiences and then adjourn from there.

We will also be trying to raise money or gathering donated items again this year, as we have done in the past, for our catered lunch and T-shirts and a gift for our speaker(s).
